New Payment Rules for Businesses in Bahrain: What You Need to Know

All commercial businesses in Bahrain must now follow new payment rules set by the government. These rules are part of Resolution No. 43 of 2024 and Decision No. (43) of 2024. Here’s what you need to know:

Bank Account Requirement

Every business registered with the Ministry of Industry and Commerce must handle all financial transactions through at least one commercial bank account in Bahrain. If your business has multiple branches, just one account is enough.

Electronic Payments Are a Must

All businesses must offer at least one electronic payment option for their customers. This means besides cash, customers should be able to pay using methods like cards, mobile wallets, or other digital payments.
